North Rhine-Westphalia: Corona incidence in NRW drops to 342.8

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the corona incidence for North Rhine-Westphalia as 342.8 on Thursday morning. The value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants reported within seven days fell compared to the previous day (375.0). According to the RKI, NRW is still above the national average of 262.3. Four weeks ago, the incidence in NRW was 637.6.

In the most populous federal state, 11,524 confirmed new Covid 19 cases and 37 deaths related to the corona virus were added within 24 hours.

However, the information only provides a very incomplete picture of the number of infections. Experts have been assuming for some time that there will be a large number of cases not recorded by the RKI - mainly because not all infected people have a PCR test done. Only positive PCR tests count in the statistics. In addition, late registrations or transmission problems can lead to a distortion of individual daily values.
