In Kierspe, also in the Märkisches Kreis, a driver slipped when getting out after hitting a garbage can with his car. In total, the police in the district counted about 20 accidents due to ice on Monday night.
According to a spokeswoman for the situation center in Düsseldorf, the majority of accidents in the country were only damage to the bodywork.
