Wuppertal (dpa / lnw) - A heavily intoxicated couple in Wuppertal threatened a 20-year-old with a self-made ax and a badminton racket and triggered a large police operation. Eleven patrol cars moved to the crime scene near the main train station, the police said.
The emergency services quickly intervened and took the couple, a 34-year-old and her 32-year-old partner, into custody. Reports of threats and violations of the weapons law were created, the police said. According to an official, the self-made ax consisted of an iron rod, a semi-circular blade and a spur. The woman and man were released from custody on Sunday after sobering up for a few hours.
