Wuppertal (dpa / lnw) - Immediately before the fatal accident on the A46 in Wuppertal, which had serious consequences, the 40-ton truck involved in the accident began to sway in a construction site area. According to the traces, the 51-year-old driver initially strayed off the narrow lane to the right with his truck and hit a concrete protective wall with his tires, the police said on Thursday.
As a result, the truck swayed and could no longer be controlled until it finally swerved to the left and crashed into a bridge pillar on the concrete safety wall there.
The 51-year-old truck driver from Gevelsberg died in his cab. There were no indications of the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication, it said on Thursday. The busy autobahn between Düsseldorf and Wuppertal had to be closed for hours in both directions because of the accident on Wednesday.
