Elsdorf (dpa / lnw) - After a suspected illegal race between two drivers, the police on Autobahn 4 secured the 650 hp sports car and driver's license of one of the participants. Several witnesses reported two sports cars with a striking paint finish on Thursday, which were traveling at high speed in the Cologne-West intersection, the police said on Friday. The drivers are said to have overtaken on the right several times and also used the hard shoulder for their maneuvers. According to witnesses, accidents were only prevented by emergency braking by other drivers.
At Elsdorf in the Rhein-Erft district, a patrol finally stopped a 29-year-old with a sports car. In addition to the vehicle, the officers also secured the driver's cell phone for evaluation. The investigation into the second driver is still ongoing, the police said.
