North Rhine-Westphalia: Laumann: Company car privilege has a social component

Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - According to NRW Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU), the abolition of tax breaks for company cars could affect care workers. "When it comes to company car privileges, we all automatically think of big limousines. It is forgotten that company cars also have a social component," Laumann told the "Spiegel".

"For example, when outpatient care services enable their employees to use company cars - usually small cars - privately," says Laumann. For these nurses, especially in rural areas, the company car privilege is a great financial relief. Most recently, the dispute over the taxation of company cars flared up again in the traffic light coalition.
