North Rhine-Westphalia: NRW film prize for German-Georgian production

Cologne (dpa/lnw) - The German-Georgian feature film production "A Room of My Own" has been awarded the NRW Film Prize. The film by director Ioseb Bliadze takes viewers on a journey to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi, which has been hit by the corona pandemic, in 2021.

The prize, which the producer team Eva Blondiau and Elmár Imánov received, is endowed with 20,000 euros. A total of 14 productions were submitted for the NRW Film Prize - more than ever before, according to the State Chancellery. Among them were thrillers, dramas and documentaries.

The NRW Film Prize has been awarded as part of the Film Festival Cologne since 2016. In the NRW competition, films are presented that were shot in the federal state or realized by producers or directors from the federal state. The prize is borne by the state and the Film and Media Foundation of North Rhine-Westphalia.
