Essen (dpa / lnw) - It's getting hot again in North Rhine-Westphalia. The German Weather Service (DWD) expects a maximum temperature of between 27 and 31 degrees on Monday and around 25 degrees in the higher mountains. During the day it will remain dry and sunny, before showers and thunderstorms will roll up in the evening. In the afternoon, according to the DWD, thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected in the north-east, then also in the very west.

On Tuesday it will be uncomfortable. According to the DWD, the weather will be variable and partly cloudy with local showers and partly heavy thunderstorms. The temperature drops slightly to highs of 24 to 28 degrees. In the heavily cloudy to overcast night on Wednesday, showery rain in some areas and thunderstorms in some areas are to be expected.
