Düsseldorf (dpa / lnw) - In the dispute over files from the municipal ministry relating to the flood disaster in North Rhine-Westphalia, the SPD parliamentary group wants to go to the Constitutional Court in Münster. Minister Ina Scharrenbach (CDU) had previously allowed a deadline set by the opposition to expire by Tuesday afternoon.
Scharrenbach had been questioned the day before for the third time as a witness in the committee of inquiry into the flood disaster. She seemed annoyed, gave only short answers and repeatedly pointed out that the post-flood reconstruction - for which she is responsible - was not covered by the commission's investigation. He should only deal with the catastrophe itself.
"The appearance of Mrs. Scharrenbach in the committee of inquiry was and is an affront to everyone affected by this catastrophe," said SPD parliamentary group leader Thomas Kutschaty on Tuesday. "With her demonstratively cool manner," Scharrenbach "showed more than clearly how little empathy she had for the victims." The SPD is now preparing to go to the Constitutional Court. He should determine that Scharrenbach's file blockade is illegal.
In the first round of the sub-committee on the flood in the past legislative period, the Scharrenbach Ministry had delivered around 5,700 pages of files. According to the SPD, she only sent the current committee ten more pages.
