North Rhine-Westphalia: Sunny weekend in NRW: the start of the week will be uncomfortable

Essen (dpa / lnw) - People in North Rhine-Westphalia can expect a sunny and warm to hot weekend. At the start of the week, however, thunderstorms and heavy rain are expected, as a meteorologist from the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Saturday.

Saturday will be rain-free with changing clouds. During the rest of the day, however, it is becoming increasingly clearer, with maximum temperatures between 24 and 27 degrees. At night it cools down to about 10 to 15 degrees.

The sun will shine on Sunday and there will be no precipitation. In many parts of the country, another hot day with a maximum of 32 degrees is expected, the DWD reports. Even at night it stays warm at 17 to 20 degrees.

On Monday, however, thunderstorms are coming from the west, especially from midday. Heavy rain and squalls are also to be expected. In the east of the country, maximum temperatures of 31 to 33 degrees are expected, in the Rhineland it will be a little cooler.
