Hagen (dpa / lnw) - On a family trip to the Lenne in Hagen-Hohenlimburg, a 33-year-old woman found a pistol and heaps of ammunition in the river bed on Tuesday. While bathing in the river to cool off on the hottest day of the year so far, she found a cartridge in the water. After a short phone call with her husband, she then called the police, confirmed Hagen's police spokeswoman Ramona Arnhold on Friday on request. Fire brigade divers found a rusty pistol and several bags with small caliber and shotgun ammunition and lamps. The State Criminal Police Office was also involved in the investigation. The lamps, which are used in flare guns in emergency situations, for example, were then "controlledly blown up in a quarry" by experts, Arnhold explained.
