The forceful Housing plan announced this weekend by Pedro Sánchez after unblocking the Housing Law will have a response from the Popular Party. Alberto Núñez Feijóo will present his alternative model this Tuesday, focused on facilitating access to housing for low and medium incomes, as well as for young people, and which will be activated if the popular leader arrives at La Moncloa.

Feijóo will outline his proposal, a national housing plan, in an act dedicated to this matter, in parallel to the Council of Ministers that will approve the mobilization of 50,000 Sareb flats for rent at affordable prices. Among the measures announced by the opposition leader will be the guarantee by the Government of 15% for the purchase of the first home. Regarding the rent, for its part, the PP will also commit itself if it manages to govern to provide the payment of the deposit required by the tenants.

In addition, the popular will propose forceful measures against illegal squatting, one of the most problematic points and which, in the eyes of the PP, does not solve the Housing Law recently enacted by the Government with the support of its fundamental partners in Congress. "The absence" of measures against squatting in the new regulatory text is resounding, they say in Genoa.

It is a battery of measures in which the PP has been working for several weeks and in which the popular leadership is overturned. This same Monday, without going any further, Feijóo has held a meeting prior to the usual Management Committee in which the general secretary, Cuca Gamarra, as well as the deputy secretaries Juan Bravo and Carmen Fúnez have participated.

As the formation's campaign spokesman, Borja Sémper, has advanced, the national housing plan promoted by the main opposition party "will have as its axis the stimulation of medium and low incomes and young people." "Faced with the occurrences and the smoke", said Sémper, the strategy designed by the PP seeks to put the focus squarely on the middle and lower classes and the youth, the great ones crushed by Sánchez throughout the last legislature and who go now, they believe in Genoa, in the final stretch of the pre-campaign, with the polls against and with a strong internal wear in their Government.

Sémper, to justify his explanations, has drawn from the newspaper library and has referred to the promise already made by Sánchez in 2021 to mobilize 20,000 homes from the public park for rentals at affordable prices. To this day, according to the numbers handled by the PP, only a few dozen flats in Badalona have been activated under this plan.
