Saxony-Anhalt: 15th Days of Jewish Culture and History

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - Numerous events and encounters put Jewish life in Magdeburg in the public eye for about a month. The 15th Days of Jewish Culture and History in Magdeburg are intended to make Jewish life tangible until November 26th and to declare war on anti-Semitism. According to the organizers, the focus is on the state capital, but there are also connections to other regions, to Germany and Europe.

The program includes concerts, readings, exhibitions, lectures, discussions and theater performances. In addition to the Design Forum, the City Library, the "einewelt haus", the Israelite Cemetery and the Georg Philipp Telemann Conservatory also welcome visitors.

This year's festivities are dedicated to commemorating Wadim Laiter, the chairman of the board of the synagogue community in Magdeburg, who died in the summer. At the beginning of May, the groundbreaking ceremony for a new synagogue took place in the center of Magdeburg.
