Stendal/Salzwedel/Diesdorf (dpa/sa) - With concerts in museums, schools, libraries, churches or village community centers, the sparsely populated north of Saxony-Anhalt wants to recommend itself as an attractive cultural region. After the opening of the Altmark music festival on Sunday in the Diesdorf open-air museum, jazz, rock, pop, folklore and classical music are on the festival program until October 22nd.

According to their information, the 27th edition of the music festival in the districts of Stendal and Salzwedel combines more than 50 events - some of them in the open air. Both districts are sponsors of the festival. They are supported by 23 partners in the alignment.

More than 40 artists, ensembles, orchestras and choirs from the Altmark and other parts of Germany invite you to concerts at some unusual locations. At the start, the Berlin Shellac Trio invites you on a musical journey into the 1920s. They play the concert "A Little Longing" in the Diesdorf open-air museum. According to the information, the Altmark Music Festival also includes "music lessons with a difference", which is available at several schools.
