Saxony-Anhalt: Energy: The country wants to turn down the temperature and speed up to 120

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - Saxony-Anhalt's state government wants to counteract a possible emergency in the gas supply with a package of measures. According to a report in the "Mitteldeutsche Zeitung" (Tuesday), which appears in Halle, corridors and photocopying rooms in public authorities should no longer be heated in the future. A “moderate reduction” in temperature is planned for workplaces. According to the report, this provides for a draft resolution that the cabinet will discuss at its meeting on Tuesday.

According to the proposals of the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Social Affairs, a voluntary speed limit of 120 kilometers per hour should apply to employees with company cars. In addition, six state ministries are proposing to save energy with “temporary closures of authority locations” – for example over the Christmas period.

There should no longer be hot water for sinks. The state also wants to save on lighting: Employee parking spaces could remain dark at times, and lamps in rarely used rooms should only be switched on by motion detectors when needed.
