Saxony-Anhalt: Masks are no longer compulsory in public transport in Saxony-Anhalt

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - In Saxony-Anhalt today (00.00 a.m.) the mask requirement in buses and trains of local transport falls. It is the first state to waive the rule. In the future, people should be able to decide for themselves whether to wear mouth and nose protection or not. It must still be worn in long-distance public transport, which is regulated by the Federal Infection Protection Act. It also mandates that FFP2 masks must be worn in clinics, nursing homes, doctor's offices and other healthcare facilities. A negative test is also required when entering care facilities and hospitals. In Bavaria, the mask requirement in public transport should fall on Saturday.
