Saxony-Anhalt: Minister of Forestry presents report on the state of the forests

Halle (dpa/sa) - After a turbulent year with extreme weather events and fires, Forest Minister Sven Schulze (CDU) will present the 2022 forest condition report for Saxony-Anhalt on Wednesday (9 a.m.). In Halle, the focus is not only on the influence of extreme weather conditions on the forest, but also on the role of alternative tree species in silviculture planning. The condition of the soil is also presented. Last year, Schulze criticized the condition of the forests in the country. Storms, pests and periods of extreme heat and drought have had a severe impact on the forest.
