Saxony-Anhalt: State increases staff in the judiciary

Magdeburg (dpa/sa) - Saxony-Anhalt's judiciary is receiving additional staff: 48 women and men have successfully completed their preparatory service and are being taken on as judicial secretaries and judicial sergeants in the state service. This was announced by the Ministry of Justice on Wednesday.

"We are consistently continuing to increase staff in all areas of the judiciary," said Justice Minister Franziska Weidinger (CDU). "The women and men will ensure smooth processes as well as order and security in the courts and public prosecutor's offices."

Judicial secretaries take care of business operations in courts and public prosecutor's offices. They manage case files and accept applications and declarations. Judicial sergeants are responsible for the demonstration and guarding of prisoners. They also transport objects, money, valuables and documents.
