Saxony: business survey: mood in the trades "in the basement"

Dresden (dpa/sn) - The mood in the Saxon trade is "in the basement" in view of the increased prices for energy, raw materials and materials. The Handwerkstag came to this assessment by evaluating an economic survey. Established companies have had to live with crises in the past, said association head Jörg Dittrich on Monday in Dresden. "But the challenges we have had to overcome since spring 2022, a large number of difficult tasks, is probably without precedent." Since the beginning of the year, almost 90 percent of craft businesses have registered extremely high energy costs. The food trade is one of the particularly affected companies.
