Malschwitz (dpa/sn) - After the annual maintenance break, the "House of a Thousand Ponds" information center in Malschwitz near Bautzen will reopen on Wednesday. This was announced by the administration of the biosphere reserve, which is under UNESCO protection, on Tuesday. There are permanent exhibitions about the pond landscape and its flora and fauna, and the new season of events is also starting.
In line with the current energy crisis, the Bautzen Energy Agency will give tips on Wednesday evening for generating electricity with your own photovoltaic systems and for replacing the heating system. In addition, interesting tools for saving energy will be presented.
The special exhibition "SerbskiKonsum" offers a nostalgic and ironic view of the "good old GDR times". Until the end of February, visitors can buy modern accessories inspired by Sorbian costumes.
