Bautzen (dpa/sn) - Employees in the metal and electrical industry continued their warning strikes in Saxony on Tuesday. At Alstom in Bautzen alone, around 600 people stopped work for one and a half hours in the morning, according to IG Metall. For her, it's not just about the demand for 8 percent more wages in the current collective bargaining round, but also about the prospects for the company's Saxon locations.
So far, employers have promised, among other things, a tax and duty-free "inflation compensation premium" of EUR 3,000 for a term of 30 months and a later, as yet unspecified increase in the salary scales.
