Saxony: Police are still looking for perpetrators after a large-scale operation in Taucha

Leipzig (dpa / sn) - After the release of irritant gas at a high school in Taucha in northern Saxony, the police are still looking for the perpetrators. The investigations into the suspicion of serious bodily harm were ongoing, but the police did not expect any further specific information about the perpetrators one day after the incident, said a police spokesman on Thursday morning. According to initial investigations, previously unknown persons had handled irritants in the school building.

As a result, 7 adults and 37 schoolchildren complained about irritation of the respiratory tract, among other things. The high school was therefore cleared on Wednesday morning. Some students were taken to hospitals for assessment. The fire brigade carried out measurements and ventilated the building on Friedrich-Engels-Strasse.
