Separation after seven years: "Sporty Spice" should be single again

After a reunion tour in 2019, the Spice Girls are going their separate ways again, but they are all also successful on solo paths. For one of the women there is not enough time to continue their relationship.

Is she too busy with her career? The singer Melanie C is said to have split from her partner Joe Marshall after seven years. "Mel has an incredibly busy career with her book deal, DJing and other pursuits. What little free time she has is devoted to her daughter Scarlett and that doesn't leave much time for a relationship," said an unidentified music business source the British "Sun".

Melanie Chisholm, who became known as "Sporty Spice" of the girl group Spice Girls, and her partner are said to have split "amicably". The insider added that Mel C isn't afraid of "being single if she thinks it's for the best." Chisholm was in a relationship with Thomas Starr from 2002 to 2012, and their daughter was born in 2009. As of 2015, she is said to have been in a relationship with Marshall.

Melanie C celebrated her musical breakthrough with the Spice Girls, founded in 1994. With millions of records sold and hits like "Wannabe", "Stop" or "Spice Up Your Life", the members of the group became icons. In 1998 Chisholm began a successful solo career as Melanie C.

The Spice Girls started another reunion tour in 2019, since then it had been quiet about the group. The tour saw the Spice Girls - without Victoria Beckham - perform in front of 700,000 fans at 13 concerts in the UK and Ireland. The tour of Mel B, Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Melanie C is said to have grossed an estimated £80m (€95m).
