The name of the best hunter in East Germany is Philipp Brabant and he comes from Saxony-Anhalt. As a spokeswoman for the state hunting association Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania said on Monday, the man from Magdeburg scored the highest number of points in the "comparative shooting of the hunters of the East German federal states" at the weekend in Grimmen. The champion scored 327 out of a possible 350 points in the combination, which consists of several shooting disciplines, on Saturday. Second was Christof Plöthner from Thuringia with 324 points ahead of Thomas Dochow, who started for Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and scored 321 points.
Laura Quooß from Brandenburg won the women's individual championships with 300 points, ahead of Christiane Barth from Saxony (271) and Dana Damme from Brandenburg with 257 points.
It was the first East German championships since 2019, since the competition was canceled afterwards due to the corona. A total of 116 women and men were at the start in Grimmen. The next eastern championship for hunters is scheduled to take place in Brandenburg in 2023.
