The 61-year-old starred in a number of hit films in the 1990s and 2000s, including 'Heat', 'Natural Born Killers', 'Pearl Harbor' and 'Black Hawk Down'. However, he became world famous for his role as Sergeant Mike Horvath in Saving Private Ryan.
Opposite Tom Hanks, Sizemore utters the eponymous line towards the end of the film: "Maybe one day we'll look back and realize that rescuing Private Ryan was the only decent thing we could do about this hideous mess."
However, his early 2000s success was followed by flops and Sizemore struggled with drug problems. He also repeatedly got into conflict with the judiciary: in 2003 he was found guilty of hitting his ex-girlfriend. He was sentenced to six months in prison, suspended on probation. In 2007, however, he had to go to prison for violating the terms of his probation.
