Juan Carlos I prepares his return to Spain for a few days in the same month of April. The King Emeritus has assured friendly Spanish businessmen that his intention is to travel to London and, from there, later, to Sanxenxo, according to one of them assures this newspaper.
The first stage is to go to London at an invitation that Charles III, head of the British State and his relative, has sent him to a private lunch. And the second, to travel later from the British capital to Vigo to participate in a regatta in Sanxenxo with the crew of his traditional boat, Bribón.
The calendar he manages is the week of April 17 to 23 and it would be a less uncomfortable return to Spain for Zarzuela than the one initially planned for May, too close to the elections.
A Spanish Cup regatta is scheduled to take place in Sanxenxo on April 22 and 23, but the Emeritus has assured his friends that he wants to be there days before to participate in training. At 85 years old, he conveys to businessmen that he is in good health, according to the sources consulted, and eager to return to Spain and practice his passion for regattas with friends.
For now, this Sunday he posed in Abu Dhabi, his place of residence with his daughter Infanta Elena and his grandson Felipe Juan Froilán. In some images that the online newspaper 65ymás has had access to, the three appear at the entrance of the Abrahamic Center, a place for learning, dialogue and the practice of faith located in the Saadiyat Cultural District. Felipe Juan Froilán moved to Abu Dhabi a few weeks ago, where he works for the state oil company Adnoc.
Juan Carlos I had the initial intention of staying these days in the Emirates and not going to a Galician town until May 19 for the six-meter test, but in the Casa del Rey it was considered an inappropriate date as it occurred in the middle of the municipal election campaign and autonomous. The private meeting with Carlos III prior to Sanxenxo follows the one he held on February 10 in Paris at Elíseo. French President Emmanuel Macron held a private dinner with him and Mario Vargas Llosa, among other attendees, after the Peruvian writer joined the French Academy.
