Erfurt (dpa/th) - The number of people in employment in Thuringia has recently increased again slightly. After a decline in the years 2019 to 2021, the positive development in the first quarter continued in the second, said the Thuringian State Office for Statistics on Friday. According to this, an average of 1,022,700 people had a job in Thuringia from April to June. That is 7,400 or 0.7 percent more compared to the same period last year. Across Germany, the number of people in employment rose by 1.5 percent in the second quarter.
The State Statistical Office only published the final data for 2021 on Thursday. According to this, the number of people in employment in Thuringia fell by around 6,800 last year, a drop of 0.7 percent compared to 2020.
