Thuringia: Jenoptik technology group with jump in sales

Jena (dpa/th) - After a strong third quarter and in view of well-filled order books, the Jenoptik technology group is becoming somewhat more confident for the year as a whole. "Jenoptik has proven its growth strength and resilience in a challenging environment," said company boss Stefan Traeger, according to a statement on Thursday in Jena. The significant sales growth in the third quarter, good earnings quality and a very pleasing order intake and backlog have strengthened the company's confidence for the year as a whole.

For 2022, sales in the upper half of the range of 930 to 960 million euros are now being targeted, the SDax group announced in Jena. In the first nine months, revenues totaled 698 million euros. That was a good third more than in the previous year.

The operating profit (Ebitda) adjusted for special effects should continue to increase significantly above the previous year's figure of 125.2 million euros and the corresponding Ebitda margin should improve to 18.0 to 18.5 percent.

In the third quarter, sales rose by almost a third year-on-year to EUR 251 million. The Group continued to benefit from the high demand from the semiconductor industry. The operating result (Ebitda) increased by 12 percent to 48.2 million euros. The bottom line is that profits shrank by around 23 percent to just under 21 million euros. The decline was also related to higher taxes. Incoming orders increased by around 23 percent to almost 276 million euros.
