Eisenberg (dpa/th) - The police stopped a speeder on the A9 Berlin-Nuremberg on Sunday that was traveling at more than 200 kilometers per hour. A video patrol noticed a car near the Bad Klosterlausnitz junction that was traveling at significantly more than the permitted 120 kilometers per hour, as reported by the highway police. The officers followed the car and initially measured a speed of 164 kilometers per hour.

The driver visibly braked at a stationary measuring system in order to then increase his speed to 214 km/h. The 35-year-old from Hesse now faces a fine of 1,600 euros. In addition, he has to be prepared for a three-month driving ban and two points in Flensburg.
