Thuringia: sauna of a house burns in Schmölln

Schmölln (dpa/th) - A sauna fire in the Nitzschka district of Schmölln in the Altenburger Land district caused damage of 70,000 euros. The homeowner initially noticed a burning smell from the basement, the police said on Monday morning. When the man entered the basement on Sunday afternoon, the flames from the sauna were already hitting him. They were extinguished with foam by firefighters. Nobody got hurt. First, the "Ostthüringer Zeitung" reported on the fire.
