Chairs like those at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena made an important contribution to more gender sensitivity in the university, in studies, research and later professional life," explained the 31-year-old on Saturday. At the same time, he welcomed the willingness to talk about ways to obtain the professorship.
In Jena, students occupied a lecture hall for about two weeks to protest for a professorship in gender history. On Wednesday, the students announced that they wanted to end the occupation, but not the protest. The council of the philosophical faculty had previously decided to examine "resilient ways" to obtain this professorship.
