Erfurt (dpa/th) - In Thuringia, tax investigators and officials from the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) searched several restaurants on Thursday. In the course of investigations into economic crimes, there were searches in several properties, confirmed the spokesman for the Erfurt public prosecutor, Hannes Grünseisen. He did not provide any further information.
According to MDR Thuringia, the officials were looking for evidence of tax evasion and manipulation of the electronic cash register systems. According to the report, the suspicion is directed against twelve Italian and Armenian restaurateurs. The focus of the raid was therefore Erfurt.
