Getting to know Sylvie Meis and Niclas Castello begins like in a fairy tale – the presenter and the artist fall in love at a wedding. Eventually they got married themselves. Now, two and a half years later, it's all over.
Presenter Sylvie Meis and artist Niclas Castello have announced their marriage. "It is with a heavy heart that we announce that we have decided together to separate," the couple told the "Bild" newspaper. The two would look back on very good times, but would have to acknowledge "that our life situations are too different for a future together," the statement continues. The still married couple want to protect their privacy and will "therefore not answer any questions".
Sylvie Meis and Niclas Castello announced their engagement in October 2019. The two are said to have met at the beginning of June at the wedding of model Barbara Meier. They actually wanted to say yes in June 2020, but because of Corona they had postponed the wedding by a few weeks.
The wedding finally took place on September 19, 2020 in Florence. The two celebrated with numerous celebrity guests, friends and family members in a magnificent villa. When the "Bild" newspaper asked what was so special about him, she said: "Deep in my heart I feel that he is the right one for me. I feel safe and secure at Niclas' side."
Sylvie Meis has not had much luck with men so far. Before her second marriage to Castello, she was in a relationship with Dutch film producer Bart Willemsen until early 2019, and this partnership lasted almost six months. She was previously engaged to Charbel Aouad. But the wedding bells did not ring in Dubai as hoped.
Before that, Meis was married to soccer star Rafael van der Vaart. Together they have son Damian. He now has a little half-sister who was born in 2017. The girl's mother is the handball player Estavana Polman, with whom the football star has been in a relationship since 2016.
