Two passengers who were traveling on a scheduled bus avoided a serious accident on Wednesday after noticing the driver's indisposition and seizing the controls of the vehicle until they pulled it to the shoulder and stopped it in the municipal area of ​​Cortes.

It happened at dawn from Tuesday to Wednesday on the A-68, where a coach from the Monbus company that made the journey between Barcelona and San Sebastián was traveling, when around 02:30 a.m. the driver fainted, a circumstance of the that two passengers noticed, one of them a professional truck driver.

The speed of his action in removing the driver from the wheel and one helping him while the other slowed down and controlled the bus until it was pushed aside on the shoulder prevented the event from being more serious, since it resulted in slight damage to the vehicle after colliding with a protection bionda, without any of the passengers being injured, sources from the Provincial Police have confirmed to EFE.

Once the bus was controlled, the passengers notified the assistance, so that an ambulance came to the scene that took the bus driver to the Reina Sofía Hospital in Tudela.

Members of the Provincial Police also attended, who transferred the bus to the nearest service area, where it remained until the arrival from Zaragoza of another company driver, who took charge of continuing with the passengers on the planned trip to San Sebastián.
