War Ukraine - Russia NATO countries have given kyiv "more than 98%" of the promised combat vehicles

The Member States of the Atlantic Alliance and the partner countries have delivered to Ukraine "more than 98%" of the combat vehicles that they had promised to face the Russian invasion of the former Soviet republic, the Secretary General reported on Thursday of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg.

"NATO allies and partners have provided Ukraine with unprecedented support. More than 98% of the combat vehicles promised to Ukraine have already been delivered," Stoltenberg said at a press conference with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel, with whom he met today in Brussels.

The Norwegian politician explained that the percentage translates into "more than 1,500 armored vehicles, 230 tanks and other equipment, including large amounts of ammunition."

"Our message is clear: NATO will be with Ukraine for as long as it takes. We must stay the course and continue to provide Ukraine with what it needs to win," Stoltenberg said.

The Alliance secretary general added that during the NATO summit to be held in July in Lithuania, the alliance intends to expand its support for Ukraine with a "multi-year support plan", reports Afp.

At the same time, he indicated, at that summit the allies will discuss ways to distribute the burden of maintaining this war support, "because in a more dangerous world we must invest more and better in our defense."
