Bill and Melinda Gates announced their divorce last year after 27 years of marriage. Now the ex-wife of the Microsoft founder is said to have a new man by her side. He is not a blank slate in the media world.

About a year and a half after her divorce from Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Melinda French Gates is said to be in a relationship again. This is reported by the US celebrity portal "TMZ". Her boyfriend is said to be former Fox News correspondent Jon Du Pre.

The site also shared a photo of the philanthropist and Du Pre, said to have been taken back in April. In it, the two can be seen at a basketball game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics.

Du Pre is a former correspondent for Fox News. He worked for the right-wing conservative US broadcaster in the 1990s and 2000s, and is now an author and, according to his LinkedIn page, also a specialist in strategic communication. As "Page Six" reports, he has three children from a previous marriage and several grandchildren.

A look at Jon Du Pre's Instagram page is enough to see that the journalist is a real jock. His photos show the 63-year-old playing golf, hiking in the mountains, jogging on the beach, competing in triathlons and other competitions. He seems to be very proud of his appearance: in numerous pictures he flexes his muscles shirtless.

French Gates' children, who the 58-year-old has with her ex-husband, are said to have already met Du Pre. The two recently visited the five-star Pelican Hill Hotel in Newport Beach, California, with some family members, TMZ reports.

Melinda French Gate married Microsoft founder Bill Gates in 1994. Together they have three children, daughters Jennifer Katharine and Phoebe Adele (born 1996 and 2002 respectively) and son Rory John (1999). In 2021, French Gates filed for divorce from her husband. "It wasn't one moment or one specific thing that happened. There just came a point when it was enough where I realized it just wasn't healthy and I couldn't trust what we had anymore ' she later explained her motives on the TV show CBS Mornings. His affair with an employee had nothing to do with it.
