Bob Lee, a technology entrepreneur who founded the Cash App mobile payment service application, has been stabbed to death at the age of 43 near downtown San Francisco (California), his father announced Wednesday on social media.

Lee was the director of product at MobileCoin, a San Francisco-based cryptocurrency startup, and worked at Google and Square.

He also invested in several technology companies, including SpaceX, Clubhouse and Figma, according to his LinkedIn profile.

MobileCoin has issued a statement saying that Lee had died, but has not said how. "Our dear friend and colleague, Bob Lee, passed away yesterday at the age of 43. He leaves behind a wonderful family and a collection of close friends and associates," the company statement said.

The Police, for their part, have reported that there was a stabbing and the victim was taken to a hospital, where he died. At this time, no arrests have been made in the case and the San Francisco police have not released any details about the possible suspects.
