Buried in Alt-Mölln: Police find a corpse wrapped in a carpet

After a missing persons report, police officers in Schleswig-Holstein come across a corpse. The unknown dead was wrapped in a carpet and buried behind an apartment building, the officials report. The identity and cause of death are not yet known.

In Alt-Mölln, Schleswig-Holstein, the police found a body buried on a plot of land after receiving a tip. The still unidentified dead person was wrapped in a "glued roll of textile", as the investigators in Lübeck reported. The note referred to a missing person or a missing person. No further details were initially given. The identity and cause of death of the deceased are just as unclear as a possible crime or its background, said the police and the public prosecutor.

The body was discovered during an excavation on Monday after police sniffer dogs struck the spot. The first thing that was found was the roll of textile, in which a corpse was discovered during examinations in forensic medicine.

According to media reports, the property was in an industrial area in the small community near Mölln, near an apartment building. The body should therefore have been wrapped in a carpet, the area was a kind of garden plot with a carport. The investigations were "running flat out," prosecutors and the police said. The findings will be reported at a later date.
