Sálvame celebrated its 14th anniversary on Telecinco on Thursday, April 27. He did it with a special that paid tribute to Mila Ximénez, who died in 2021 and whom her colleagues remembered throughout the afternoon.

Jorge Javier Vázquez and the collaborators started the delivery from a rooftop in Mediaset. It was the same one where they had said goodbye to the journalist with some yellow balloons forming the initial of her name.

The magazine offered different videos compiling some of her best moments, but also shared several unpublished audios that the socialist had sent to her friends. There was both laughter and tears.

One of the most emotional moments of the program took place when Kiko Hernández recalled what her daughters told Ximénez in a video call during the pandemic, when she discovered that she was sick: "To heal yourself, you have to put a little glitter on your forehead and you're going to be fine." According to her, Mila began to cry and hung up, but called again shortly after with her forehead covered in glitter. "Every time she went to the hospital for chemotherapy, she would go with glitter on her forehead," she said.

David Valldeperas explained that in the magazine they had considered "how to lengthen Mila's shadow more, if possible": "It occurred to us that if there is something that is going to last beyond us, this building and everything, it is the universe". The director revealed that they had named a star after her.

Sálvame prepared a musical performance for its 14th anniversary, just as an emotional Kiko Hernández had advanced the day before. Jorge Javier Vázquez and Mila Ximénez appeared together on screen to sing Si te marchas, a song by Merche. The presenter had commented the day before: "Mila made it her own and we have made a very nice version."

The Catalan burst into tears when talking about the absence of the collaborator: "It is very difficult to find someone in life with whom you are so in tune. I have lived the most important years of my professional career with her."
