In Germany, the powerful high "Feuka" has taken over, making for a fairly foggy start to the week. From Tuesday, however, the weather has many a pleasant surprise in store: warming rays of sunshine ensure spring-like temperatures. But it doesn't stay that way.
While we're cruising into the new week quite comfortably, the weather in other parts of the world is making much bigger waves. This is particularly true in New Zealand, where torrential rains are expected again.
The island state is threatened with widespread rainfall of 100 to 200, in peaks even up to 500 liters per square meter - like a few weeks ago with severe flooding. In principle, the entire North Island is affected, with a focus on the regions around Hastings and Gisborne as well as Auckland and Whangarei. In addition, severe gusts of wind to hurricanes and strong thunderstorms must be expected. On Wednesday, the low is expected to move south-east and rain and storms will ease.
In Germany, meanwhile, the strong high "Feuka" has taken over the weather rudder. With a core pressure of over 1040 hectopascals, it makes for a quiet, but sometimes quite foggy start to the week. In addition, it is often frosty at night and also quite fresh in the fog during the day, while the sun is approaching the spring mark of 15 degrees. The warmest day is expected to be Wednesday, before the lows try to play along again in the second half of the week.
As a result, towards the weekend it will tend to be changeable, windy and probably less warm from the north-west. Meanwhile, the high pressure weather will last the longest in the south. Here the details.
Monday night: frost in the south, clouds in the north
Most of the time it stays dry. Only in Saxony, Brandenburg and Berlin do the weather computers see some rain or drizzle. Otherwise, fog or high fog tends to form - sometimes with visibility of less than 50 meters! It is clear for longer, especially in the direction of the Black Forest and the Alps and in parts of the west. The lows: in the middle and in the south 1 to minus 4 degrees, in the north 5 to 3 degrees.
Monday: Misty start to the week
The start of the new weather week shows us that a high in winter does not necessarily have to be accompanied by sunshine. In the beginning there is often fog or high fog. Later it will be more friendly or sunny. This is especially true in the mountains and generally in the west and south-west. Further east, meanwhile, it will remain mostly cloudy with occasional drizzle. In addition, in the permanently gray fresh 4 to 9, with sun mild 10 to 13 degrees.
Tuesday to Thursday: High pressure weather in overtime
At night we can expect frost or ground frost, especially when clearing up. On the other hand, it is sunny and pleasantly warm during the day away from the fog. Tuesday and Thursday with peaks up to 13, Wednesday up to 14 or almost 15 degrees. Meanwhile, the cloudier regions usually only get single-digit values, sometimes with no more than 4 or 5 degrees. Only on Thursday does the fog tend to decrease a little, which is again due to the increasing wind with the imminent change in the weather situation. At the same time, more compact clouds with the first rain are already gathering in the north and north-west.
Friday and weekend: Lows become more dominant
Overall, the weather computers see more mixed and windy times ahead. The high, which was initially blocking, shifts southwards and thus clears the way for the lows from the north-west and west. However, the forecasts do not currently see excessive amounts of precipitation. The temperature forecasts are still somewhat undecided. All in all, however, the mild approaches with peaks around 10 degrees dominate, while the wintry scenarios tend to be in the minority.
