Three women killed since 2020: is there a serial killer in Schwäbisch Hall?

Within weeks, two elderly people died violently in the Schwäbisch Hall region. Two years earlier, a pensioner was killed. The police are now checking a connection. The responsible SOKO gets significant reinforcement.

After the violent death of two elderly women in the Schwäbisch Hall region, the police are investigating whether there are links to another violent crime against an elderly woman. In October 2020, a 94-year-old pensioner was found dead in Schwäbisch Hall. Here, too, the police assumed a homicide - the case is still unsolved to this day.

It is routine that older cases are compared, said a police spokesman. Just last week, an 89-year-old woman was found dead in her apartment in Michelbach an der Bilz. In this context, the death of a 77-year-old in December last year is being re-examined. The woman's body was found in her apartment in Schwäbisch Hall. Police believe both women were killed.

Of course there are parallels - for example that all the victims were older women in the same region. So far, however, there is no evidence of a connection, the police spokesman emphasized. The review is initially purely automatic.

After the death of the 77-year-old at the end of 2022, SOKO "Höhe" was set up. Because of the recent case in Michelbach, it has now been increased from around 50 to around 75 officers, the police spokesman said. For reasons of investigative tactics, no information was given on the exact cause of death; nor whether the seniors had been robbed.
