Barack Obama: Ex-President Shares Annual Summer Playlist

Barack Obama (60) has once again posted the songs on social media that will accompany him throughout the summer. There are 44 songs on his playlist, including new songs like "Music for a Sushi Restaurant" by the hip Harry Styles (28), but also classics like "Blue in Green" by Miles Davis (65).

The genre mix presented by the former president is correspondingly wild. From jazz to hip-hop to pop hits, there are a wide variety of styles on the list, and a striking number of songs have reggaeton rhythms. For example, the new song by Beyoncè (40) "Break My Soul" is next to Joe Cocker's (70) "Feelin' Alright" and Rosalia's (29) "Saoko" next to "Let's Go Crazy" by Prince (1958-2016).

Other older songs include "I Can't Get Next To You" by Al Green (76), "Save Me" by Aretha Franklin (1942-2018) or "Do I Move You" by Nina Simone (1933-2003). Of course, there are also currently successful songs: "Ojitos Lindos" by Bad Bunny (28), "Too Good" by Drake (35) and Rihanna (34) or "Die Hard" by Kendrick Lamar (35).

The musical ex-politician also has a few secret tips that are still relatively unknown. The Nigerian newcomer Tems (27) with her song "Vibe Out", "Finesse" by the Nigerian producer Pheelz (28) or "Many Times" by the American Dijon (30).

Apparently Obama is also hoping to discover more artists himself through his annual playlist. He writes about the list: "I look forward to sharing my summer playlist every year because I get to know so many new artists through your replies - it's an example of how music can really bring us all together." And then asks his followers which songs they are listening to this summer.
