The custody of fifteen former members of the dissolved ultra-right group Génération Identitaire, suspected of having illegally reconstituted a new structure, was lifted on Wednesday, the Paris prosecutor's office announced on Thursday March 14.

The gendarmes from the Paris research section began their arrests on Tuesday morning, according to a judicial source at AFP.
Since the dissolution of Génération Identitaire in the Council of Ministers, several of its former executives were suspected of having grouped together within the Argos association whose objectives were “close” to Génération Identitaire, according to the same source. On its website, the Argos association claims to defend “multi-millennial civilization, mutilated by decades of progressive delusions, forced amnesia and submission to other civilizations.”
On Telegram, activists from the ultra-right movement announced Tuesday that “several patriots from the whistleblower support association (ASLA)”, another structure born from the dissolution of Génération Identitaire, had “been placed in jail ". “Searchs took place this morning, at 6 a.m., throughout France among those who dared to resist (Paris, Lyon, Savoie, etc.),” said activists from the ultra-right movement.
This dragnet took place as part of an investigation opened for "participation in the maintenance or reconstitution of an organization" after "a report by article 40 from the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin", specified the 'one of the sources close to the case. Génération identitaire became known through the media coverage of operations against Islam and migrants.
