Pierre Arditi hospitalized after feeling unwell on stage, his condition considered not serious

Actor Pierre Arditi, aged 78, was hospitalized on the evening of Wednesday, September 27, after feeling unwell on stage. Those around him told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that his “days [were] not in danger.” “He is conscious” and would have “[passed] examinations”, specified this source, according to which it would “not be a stroke”, after examination.

The incident occurred while Pierre Arditi was on stage at the Théâtre Edouard VII in Paris, around twenty minutes after the start of the performance of the play Lapin, his entourage and spectators testifying on social networks said. The performance of this piece, in duet with Muriel Robin, was immediately interrupted, the curtain was lowered and the spectators were invited to leave the room.

Pierre Arditi has collaborated several times with filmmakers like Alain Resnais and Claude Lelouch, while pursuing a career on stage and on the small screen. Awarded two Césars and a Molière, he is known for his deep voice and his roles as a piquant seducer. In recent years, he has played in the series Le Sang de la vigne, in La Belle Epoque (2019) by Nicolas Bedos or, more recently, Maestro(s) (2022), where he played a conductor alongside Yvan Attal.
