Called "Justice.fr" and available on Android and iOS, the application intends to put "at your fingertips" information on the functioning of justice, for example simulators for alimony or legal aid, explained the Ministry. In particular, it must allow the user to geolocate himself to easily access all the useful information on his court, locate the "Justice Point" - reception places to obtain information or help on a legal question - the closest , find a lawyer or a notary. Some "8,000 thematic sheets (family, civil status, traffic offenses, etc.)" are available there to find out about legal issues, adds the Minister of Justice in an interview with the regional daily Ouest-France.
The creation of this service had been announced at the end of the Estates General of Justice. It is one of the sixty measures of the "action plan" for justice announced by the Keeper of the Seals in order to respond, according to him, to the "advanced decay" of the branch. “We brought justice into the living room of the French with the law on confidence in the judicial institution. I now want them to have in their pocket, on their mobile phone, the tools and resources necessary to dialogue with the legal world, ”said Mr. Dupond-Moretti at the time.
The application is intended to evolve, said the ministry. Thus, from this autumn, it will also be possible to make a request for a criminal record, to enter and file a request for legal aid (AJ) and to follow the progress of requests for AJ. At the beginning of 2024, the user can also, through the application, make a request for civil action in court.
