US Series Cast: Management incorrectly announced the death of actor Tony Dow

US actor and director Tony Dow's management have accidentally confirmed his death. As a result, "Entertainment Tonight" and the celebrity portal "TMZ", among others, unanimously reported, citing a statement from spokesmen, that the 77-year-old had died. A corresponding message was also published on the actor's Facebook page, but was later removed.

In an update on the actor's official Facebook profile, Dow's wife, Lauren Shulkind, was "very distracted" and assumed her husband had passed away and told the management team. However, the actor's daughter-in-law later contacted management and said that although he was not well, he was still alive.

Dow's son Christopher said on the official Facebook profile just before midnight German time: "This is a difficult time. Dad is at home, in hospice care and in his last hours. My wife and I are with him, along with many friends who came to see him." Dow is a fighter.

Meanwhile, Dow's wife confirmed to CBS Sunday Morning that her husband was still alive. In the summer of 2021, according to US media reports, the actor was hospitalized with pneumonia. His wife only announced on Facebook in May that he was fighting cancer again.

Tony Dow is best known for his role on the family sitcom Leave It to Beaver, which he took on when he was 12. He played the part for six years. After that, Dow took part in several TV productions, but also worked as a director and screenwriter.
