The opaque management of the Marianne fund continues to make noise. After the resignation of Christian Gravel, head of the Interministerial Committee for the Prevention of Delinquency and Radicalization, and prefect responsible for the said fund, then the recent declarations of Sébastien Jallet, the former chief of staff of Marlène Schiappa, now the secretary of State to the Prime Minister finds herself at the heart of the controversy. According to Mediapart, the minister would have decided on her own to withdraw a subsidy from the association SOS Racisme, following deep political disagreements with its president.
Marlène Schiappa has always denied having intervened in any way whatsoever in the allocation or non-attribution of a grant for an association eligible for the Marianne fund against separatism.
However, Sébastien Jallet, a former close collaborator of the minister, confided during his hearing by the Senate inquiry committee that she had indeed interceded to reverse the decision of the selection committee and withdraw a subsidy of 100,000 euros from a association.
For her part, Marlène Schiappa, who must herself be heard by the Senate inquiry committee on Wednesday June 14, did not wish to react.
