The boss of the LR deputies Olivier Marleix assured Tuesday that he would bring the group's demands on long careers during the deputies / senators discussions scheduled for Wednesday to find a compromise on the pension reform.
During the debates in the National Assembly "we had tabled an amendment to allow people who are in this system to be able to leave as soon as they have their 43 years of contributions. We will redeposit this amendment" in the Joint Joint Commission (CMP), he assured during a press briefing.
"I will have a little internal discussion to make sure that everyone feels involved in this amendment", added the deputy for Eure-et-Loir, alluding to the "slingers" who, behind the deputy Aurélien Pradié, s oppose the text as long as their demands on long careers are not fully satisfied.
While this intransigence threatens to block the adoption of the text, Mr. Marleix assured that "very clearly there is a clear majority within our group to vote for the reform".
However, he mentioned the costing made by one of the slingers of "between 15 and 20" "hostile" deputies, believing that "it may be roughly of this order".
But "some said they were waiting to see what would come out of the CMP," he insisted.
A meeting with LR senators will take place before the CMP and a group meeting afterwards, added Mr. Marleix.
While uncertainty hangs over the use of article 49-3 to pass the reform without a vote, Mr. Marleix considered that "it would be more positive if the law were passed". Otherwise “there would be gaps in the majority”.
As for the hypothesis of a motion of censure co-filed by LR deputies, Mr. Marleix considered that "if they sign a motion with (the independent group) Liot, they are entitled to sit with Liot".
But "I'm not sure it concerns many people", he added, ensuring that he had not spoken of "exclusion" in a group meeting.
"We overthrow a government when we have enough to make an alternative majority, I do not see making an alternative majority with anyone else," explained the official.
