Coach of the Frankfurt Universe: We have no answers

Frankfurt Universe has dispensed with a Start in a shortened season, the German Football League (GFL). How do you feel as a head coach without opportunities for himself and his Team?

We have come to terms with the Situation more or less. You ask yourself now: What is feasible? We lead with our trainers currently many discussions and Off-Season work out program, we are then ideally positioned for 2021. Yes, we have made a survey in June in the Team. 60 percent of the players voted to play. The Rest of the team was undecided or against it. How has it taken your team?

We have well communicated our reasons and organisational set-up, a sporting and a financial point of view presented, which make it very difficult to start in such a season. Although we are able to train from August to recover fully, but I have always said that we need at least six weeks of unrestricted Training, to prepare us for a season to properly fit. It was internal early on, many Teams do not compete with high probability, that many of the teams have the same problems as we do. And that it has for these teams is no sense to compete. You must also ask yourself, what has a sporty sense of such a season. And you have to see the total package of problems: health, economic, organizational. The biggest Problem is the quarantine is. If someone is infected, he must be in quarantine. This is excluded for an Amateur team like ours, completely. And you have to imagine that at one of our games, a Hotspot of infection is detected. Then there is perhaps tough measures – and because of the Frankfurt Universe. There are too many questions are open. But there are no answers.

There is no elaborated concept of Hygiene as in other leagues. We have not been asked to the side. What is not acceptable. It was clear pretty early on that the majority of the GFL clubs don't want to play under these conditions. Since the Association has failed, unfortunately, to take Fears and Concerns and to answer questions such as: How and how often the players are tested? Who bears the cost? What happens if the season may not be played at the end? We have received no answers.
