According to his own statement, national soccer goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been struggling with skin cancer that has now healed. The 36-year-old announced this in a press release as part of an entrepreneurial activity together with the German world-class tennis player Angelique Kerber.
"We both have a very personal history when it comes to skin diseases. Angelique has sun-related hyperpigmentation and in my case skin cancer on my face, which I've had to operate on three times," said national team captain Manuel Neuer.
The FC Bayern goalkeeper is currently on a break due to a shoulder injury. However, shortly before the World Cup in Qatar, all signs point to a comeback from Neuer in the upcoming Bundesliga final sprint. Neuer has been doing goalkeeper-specific training since the beginning of the week. "He's fine. Development is good. It's possible that he'll be back in Berlin at the weekend.
